Every January, I pull out a brand new calendar and look at all the open dates before me. After filling out the few obligatory birthdays, weddings and commitments I currently know of, I look at the open weekends. I have so many places to visit – how many can I squeeze in?
Check out the 5 cities I’ve put on my bucket list for this year – Seattle, Moab, Telluride, Chicago, and New York City. While I have so many more I’m tempted to add, I think I’ve found a good balance with these. Some road trips, some flights; some camping, some hotels in the city. I’ve been to Moab and New York City, while the other three would be brand new experiences.
I recently purchased The New York Times 36 Hours USA & Canada – a game changer for my vacation research! This travel guide offers up practical itineraries to experience a city in a weekend. I love the blue, cloth-covered book – and the rare, tangible feeling of reading trusted recommendations for restaurants, activities and hotels. The funky illustrations, maps and ribbon bookmarks were just the cherry on top, in my opinion.
I highly recommend checking it out as you plan for your own weekend adventures! Where do you hope 2017 takes you?
